Age Check Wristbands
Check ID once at the door, not again at every bar.

Checking age at the bar slows service and puts the decision on whoever is serving. Checking once on entry and banding those who pass moves it to the door, where there is time to do it properly.
Bright enough for bar staff to read in low light, tamper-evident so it cannot be handed over.
Reading it in a dark venue
The band has to be identifiable at a glance under stage lighting, which is why the colour does more work than the wording. Pick a band colour you do not use for anything else that night, and keep it consistent across every bar so staff never have to think about it.
Changing it between nights
A band that is the same every week is worth keeping and reusing. Rotating the colour, or printing the date, removes that. With eleven colours you can run a fortnight of trading before repeating one.
Ordering
From 50 bands in batches of 10. Every band carries a tamper-evident seal and a unique serial number. See nightclub wristbands, the Tyvek band for colours, and delivery for cut-offs.
