"Medicine Given Today" Wristbands
Stops a second dose being given by someone who did not know.
Where more than one person is responsible for care, the risk is not forgetting a dose, it is giving one twice. A band worn on the wrist is a handover that cannot be missed at the point it matters.
Printed in black on gold Tyvek so it is distinct from the other alert bands in the range. Add the time or the medicine name in the designer if your setting records that on the band itself.
Recording the time
Two approaches work. Either print a blank line and have staff write the time in pen, which is flexible and costs nothing extra, or print fixed time slots and have staff tick one. The first suits settings where doses vary; the second is faster where the routine is the same every day.
What the band does not replace
This is a visible prompt at the point of care, not a medication record. It sits alongside whatever your setting already keeps, and its job is to stop a second dose in the window between a written record being updated and the next adult reading it.
