Eleven band colours

White, red, forest green, purple, gold, silver, and neon green, pink, yellow, orange and blue. The print is a single black ink on whichever colour you choose, which is why this is the cheapest band we make.

It also means one artwork file works across every colour. A three-day event orders one design and three colours rather than three designs and three proofs, and adding a fourth day later is a colour change rather than a new set-up. Most organisers use colour to carry the information and let the ink carry only the name.

Designing for a single ink

Designing for one colour is different from designing for full colour. Bold type, solid shapes and high contrast reproduce well. Photographs, gradients and fine detail do not, because there is no second ink to carry them. If your artwork depends on a photograph or a sponsor's exact brand colours, the full colour band is the right choice instead.

Keep wording short. A band is read at arm's length and in motion, so a few large words beat a paragraph of small ones. The artwork guide has the printable area, bleed and safe margins.

Security and tamper evidence

Every band carries an adhesive tamper-evident seal and a unique six-digit serial number. The seal tears or leaves a visible mark if anyone tries to take a band off and refit it, which is what makes it usable for paid admission rather than decoration. The serial ties an individual band back to the run it came from if an entry is ever disputed.

What Tyvek is

Tyvek is a spun synthetic, the same material used in courier envelopes and building wrap. It handles like paper but does not tear along a fold or turn to pulp when it gets wet, so it survives rain, sweat, handwashing and a full weekend on a wrist. It is not a fabric or silicone band and is not intended to be worn for weeks.

Quantities and price

Order from 50 bands in batches of 10, up to runs in the tens of thousands. The price per band falls as the quantity rises, so most events order in a single run rather than several. Work on one band per admission rather than per ticket sold, and allow around ten per cent for damage and refits at the gate. Under-ordering is the expensive mistake, because a second run means another set-up and another delivery.

Proofing and delivery

You approve an online proof before anything is printed. Nothing reaches the press until you have signed it off, so a typo or a logo at the wrong size is caught before it becomes 5,000 bands.
